The Islamic Society of Niagara Frontier (ISNF) was established in 1971 at 40 Parker Street, Buffalo, NY as its first place of worship. The present An-Noor Masjid was established in 1995 and is one of the largest Masjids in Western New York.
Currently, ISNF is supervising the complete renovation of the interior of Parker Street Masjid a.k.a. Masjid Taqwa. The upper floor has been renovated completely and the prayer area has been expanded and a new Wudhu (ablution) facility has been constructed in the sisters area. The whole upper floor will be strictly for sisters. We are currently in the process of ordering carpets from overseas which will take about two months to arrive. The carpets will be installed in the whole Masjid and the carpets will be similar to the Masjid Noor carpets. As you have in the past, please continue to donate towards this noble cause and we would like to thank all those who have donated for the renovation of Masjid Taqwa.
Once we are finished with Masjid Taqwa, we will begin by renovating the interior prayer hall of Masjid Noor. We are currently in the process of talking with architects to finalize the best design for a mezzanine for sisters to pray in a comfortable and a serene environment. The prayer hall will have a second floor which will be a mezzanine and the entrance to the mezzanine will be from the banquet hall. We will continue to update the community as we start work on the interior of the prayer hall of Masjid Noor.
